PicsArt was co-founded in 2012 by two Armenian Americans, Hovhannes Avoyan and Artavazd Mehrabyan. Their main idea was to create a photo-sharing service by building a community around creatively editing pictures. PicsArt is the world's #1 creative platform and social editing app with more than 150 million monthly active creators. Every month, the PicsArt community creates, edits, and shares around 1 billion images, bringing together one of the largest open-source collections of content in the world, including free-to-edit photos, stickers, and more.
The product is available in 30 languages for free and as a subscription on all major platforms. Headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Yerevan, Armenia, Beijing, Tokyo, Moscow, and Los Angeles, PicsArt has raised over $65M from some of the most well know investors in the World (Sequoia Capital, DCM Ventures, Insight Venture Partners, Siguler Guff and Company, EBRD and Capital300).
